3 Ways You Are Selling Yourself Short

There are three words or phrases often used in cover letters or interviews that can limit your audience’s confidence.

I Hope

“I hope you will consider me for the Intern Assistant position with your company”

Instead, you could say

“I am confident in my abilities to contribute if chosen for the Intern Assistant position”

“I hope to hear from you soon”

Instead, you could say

“I look forward to hearing from you”

Would

“My experience as a social media coordinator and my degree in Communications would qualify me for this job”

Instead, you could say

“My education and experience as a social media coordinator has built an extensive skill set matching the desired qualifications.”

Do Not

“I do not have any experience in sales yet”

Instead, you could say

“I am eager to learn and gain experience in sales”
